About Majkia

Updated on

Majkia helps golfers choose the right distance tool. We cover laser rangefinders, GPS watches, handheld GPS units and GPS speakers.

Knowing the real yardage takes a lot of guessing out of club choice. Our job is to help you find the device that gives you that number in the way you like to read it.

What we cover

Our guides compare golf laser rangefinders with and without slope, magnetic and compact models, GPS watches, clip-on and handheld GPS units, and cart speakers that call out distances.

We also explain the basics, like pin lock, slope, battery types and what the rules allow, in plain words.

Who we write for

We write for everyday golfers. That includes people who play most weekends, people getting back into the game and family members shopping for a golfer.

You don't need to know any jargon. When a term matters, like slope compensation or front, middle and back yardages, we explain it the first time it comes up.

What we do

We read the specs, features and maker information for every product we cover. We also look at what owners often say after a season of use.

Then we turn it into plain guides, side-by-side comparisons and clear picks. Our How we research page explains the steps.

What we don't do

We don't make or sell golf gear, and no brand pays us to rank its products.

Majkia is an independent site. We aren't affiliated with Bushnell, Garmin, Callaway, Blue Tees, Nikon or any other maker.

We don't claim to have tested every product ourselves. When we pick one, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and buyer feedback.

How we earn money

Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never changes which products we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
