Author's Note:  This picks up the story of Marc Remillard, now called Marc Siolastre. If you want to see my writing of him from the beginning, the story starts  Here.  He does not appear until several chapters into the tale, and then became, much to our surprise, a major player.  But then the challenger of a Universe (see Julian May's epic Pliocene Exile series) tends to grab the spotlight, doesn't he?
